Responsibility for the well-being of teammates often scares Players from a Tank role, making finding a good Tank rather difficult. You can overcome this problem by becoming a Tank yourself. This build might be the first step on your way to becoming the heart and the shield of any PvE group. This Tank Build focuses on increasing your Toughness and Survivability so that you can withstand even the heaviest incoming Damage.
Threat Generation is the second, but evenly important aspect that was covered. Selected Skills and abilities will let you keep multiple mobs aggroed without too much of a problem, and if any breaks off, you have access tools that will let you deal with it efficiently.
It's presumably one of the best Tank builds for Group PvE content. Odealo is a secure gamer-driven marketplace for Albion Online Silver and Items.

Like this:. Share this:. Great Utility. Low Damage Output. Good Cooldown Reduction. Not suited for Solo Play. Strong Group Buffs. Trivializes Threat management. It can be changed for any other available Arcane Staff and was chosen for its additional Damaging ability that also works as an AoE CC.
If the Target wears Plate Armor, its Threat generation is doubled, and if Target wears any other type, its Threat generation is halved. Energy Beam - Channeled Spell that allows you to funnel Energy. When used on an ally, it allows you to restore his Energy.
When used on an Enemy, it lets you Drain his Energy. Great utility spell that helps with group's Energy Sustain. After a while, it collapses, dealing Damage and slowing down all affected enemies. Good AoE spell that has a lot of utility thanks to its Crowd Control effects.
It has a 60s Cooldown. An Iron-clad tank is designed for disrupting foes and controlling the pace of a battle. Whether large-scale, small-scale, having an Iron-clad on your side is typically advantageous. If you enjoy rendering rival healers useless, harassing enemy backlines and forcing them out of position, all while being as sturdy as a brick wall, then this may be just the build you were in search of. Choosing medium helmet may come as a surprise, but bear with me as there is good reasoning for the decision.
Medium Helmet is a personal favorite in Albion, as it offers a multitude of skills that are very useful on most builds, depending on what form of PvP you are involved in.
For most intents and purposes, your choice of skill for this build would be Meditation — a versatile skill which reduces all currently active cooldowns by 10 seconds. This essentially means that your skills will be available again faster so you can do your job even more effectively. Although you will usually want to have meditation for most team fights to increase your availability of crowd control CC cooldowns, another option primarily for small-scale ganking would be Defenseless Rush.
The primary skill we will want to take for this build would be Root Prison — you guessed it, another CC oriented skill that roots any opponents surrounding you for 4 seconds. Root prison is one of the strongest CC skills in the game, and often times sets up your team to land critical area of effect AoE damage on your opponents. Although the cooldown of root prison is rather extensive 30 secondsthis is one area where meditation comes into play, and effectively reduces the cooldown of root prison by 10 seconds.
The passive we will want to take here would be Toughness — increasing your armor and magic resistance by a considerable amount. This is the bread and butter of your survivability, and will allow you to rampage behind enemy lines for extended periods of time while mitigating the damage you receive. The effectiveness of this skill is self-explanatory; simply rush into enemy lines with defensive sprint, receiving a huge bonus to your resistances that make you nearly un-killable.
In the case that your enemy tries to focus-fire you down, it is highly unlikely that you will die with such high resistances and a competent healer on your side.
Similar to your heavy chest passive, you will also want to forge Toughness onto your bootswhich will further strengthen your armor and magic resists. In order to unlock your Iron-clad staff, you will first want to begin by unlocking fame through the archery branch in the destiny board.
To begin with, it does fairly solid damage to your enemy, while applying a slow to them at the same time. Stun Run: Another key skill in your CC rotation, stun run also offers a ton of utility. During this duration, the next auto-attack you land will stun your enemy. Hurricane: Easily considered the most important skill in this build, we have Hurricane. Spinning in a frenzy for 5 seconds, knocking back any enemy in your path, canceling their casts and throwing them out of position… It is hard to deny the value of this skill.
Paired with Meditation, you are nearly capable of casting this skill back-to-back with little delay, which would easily leave any group of enemies devastated.
With the amount of defensive utility you have to offer, conjoined with the heavy crowd-control that Iron-clad staves offer, this is a build that will be a challenge for any group to take down.
If you are left alone to attack your enemies freely, you have the utility to essentially make healing for the enemy a living nightmare by continuously stunning and knocking back their healers.
Templar Tank Build PvE for Elder Scrolls Online
What changes do I need to make to be able to do PVP somewhat comfortable still as a tank, for groups and for solo? Hey there, Albion now has a really cool feature where you can theory craft and create builds: albiononline. Here's 2 recent builds I haven't read through them, but I'm sure you would enjoy it : albiononline. Solo pvp is going to depend largely on what your goals are. Are you just looking to survive an encounter and get away ie, you're gathering and you want to leave the area when engaged or are you looking to hunt and kill people?
If you just want to live, Maces or Hammers will do that for you. There's enough CC on those weapons to allow you time to flee. Hammers probably have a little bit of an edge due to the stuns they have unless you're rocking the Bedrock Mace because Brute Force is sweet. If you want to kill, you'll need swords or axes I would imagine. Small group or large group PVP--Tanks aren't there for the kills.
We're there to engage, CC, Interrupt and harass the enemy. Root the enemy melee DPSers in place to delay their charge. Throw Wind Walls around. Punt enemies toward your friends so they can kill them.
The post was edited 1 time, last by Dahamma May 12tham. So I have only been playing about 30 days, wearing T5 and I want to try more builds. I wear full guardian with a mace and sarcophagus and it tanks masterfully in the dungeons.
Taunts work great, I soak up damage, run the solo expeditions by just switching the shield for a torch. Then, I off tank sometimes using 2H Heavy mace and put on some knight armor and soldier boots and run around rooting, interrupting, and knocking stuff away from the squishies. It all works well but it doesn't add up to a good PVP build necessarily. I want some overlap and I'm just looking for ideas. Like, is it wise to work up two or three separate weapons?
Are there suggestions on maybe just switching a couple things around to make a viable PVE to PVP crossover so my fame goes farther? Also a mechanics question. Someone said that taunts will reduce the damage when the target attacks someone other than me. Is that true? At least not yet. I'm in the same boat. I figure for pvp i will pretty much suck 1v1. My role will be to CC a guy long enough for my friends to roll in and pew pew. I would like pointers toward making a pvp plate build that can 1v1 a little better.

Mace Is the lowest damage weapon in the game correct me if I am wrong. The only job of the mace is to CC and reek havok on the enemy backline while your team pushes through to annihilate their squishies. Cheers Happy Hunting. If you are concerned with solo fighting people in the open world, yes, you should pick up a second weapon. What you're doing now will work fine in team fights and large scale fights.
In smaller groups of ish your current weapon just isn't bringing much since those fights are normally about damage vs damage, normally and you will just get kited.
But in a larger scale you will be a major pain to deal with. GreatAxe is a no brainer, since you'll need to be pretty deep to get good damage off, and you're armor will help with that. I'd say Curse because of the raw damage it can do, and you being so tanky would be pretty scary constant damage that would be hard to deal with.
Hope this helps. All these comments are great. I like the Greataxe idea.Keep in mind there is a huge variety of different tank builds out there that synergize well depending on your group setup.Rb25 engine
Remember, each Trial, Dungeon or Arena needs some small adjustments to the build. So if you for example need more health, then go for it! Dragonknights are by far the most popular tanking class. Naturally because of their skills and passives Dragonknights are just truly made for tanking.
They have a lot of good shields that they can apply to themselves and the group which helps with survival. They also have strong self healing and very good resource management through passives, which I will explain in more detail in the resource management section.
More resistances and increased amount of damage that you can block are also included in the passives. Dragonknights also have a very unique skill called Unrelenting Grip that they can use to pull enemies towards the groups.
Dragonknights have insane resource management compared to other tank classes. Battle Roar and Helping Hands passive outperform other classes already by a huge margin. Healers can also support you with Energy Orb and Luminous Shards Templar to give you around Stamina back, that is also the reason why we have more Stamina than Magicka, because you gain resources depending on your higher resource stat.
So our Stamina should be about higher than our Magicka pool, which means we will always get Stamina back from the Spears or the Orbs! Also, you do not always need to permablock, so when you have time, do some heavy attacks to restore some resources! Potions are also key to manage your resources well, use the right potions to really get the edge on your resources!
To be fully ready I recommend trying to get most of these sets and confirm with your raid leader what combinations you need them in. Lightning vs Frost Staff: You can use both options, a frost staff is better if you want to go the safe route and get all the block mitigation on the backbar. Frost staff heavy attack also taunts enemies on top of the usual benefits.
The Lightning Staff is used in combination with Elemental Blockade to apply Off-Balance to the enemy, that way you can support your group and increase the overall damage output. This beginner setup is here for people that do not have access to the other setup now.Spin To Win - Greataxe Dungeon Speed Clearing Build - Albion Online PVE Build - Monday Might Build
This is a slightly more advanced version that has a bit higher stats and also includes health recovery. Though it also costs more. You have to make sure to have a bit more Stamina than Magicka. Because of the Synergies you pick up give you back whatever stat is higher. You can change this to your liking, if you do not need that much health, get more stamina. Make sure to check out the full Blackrose Prison Arena Guide where I also talk about tank specific tips for the Arena.
Your main job in the Arena is to position the monsters correctly so your damage dealers can focus on AoE damage. Spell Symmetry helps regain magicka quickly and reduces the cost of your next chain cast. Please keep in mind in the normal setup we use Balance, so you might want to change to this morph in this arena. To optimize the time that you can spend on using Spell Symmetry and chaining, we are using the Mighty Chudan Monster Set.
Having permanent Major Ward and Major Resolve Increased Spell and Physical Resistance by is good, because that way we do not need to use another skill such as Volatile Armor like usually that costs magicka to keep those two very important buffs up.
Therefore you can focus more on chaining.
